School Family and Community Compact

A School, Family, and Community Compact for Achievement is an agreement that families, students and teachers develop together. It explains how we all will work together to make sure each of our students reaches their academic and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) goals.  The compact also outlines forms of communication and highlights opportunities for engagement It is updated annually by a shared stakeholder group of families, students, and staff.

RESPECT

Showing respect for families by embracing and respecting their individual wants/needs.
Prioritizing relationships and creating environments of trust and understanding. Also, we provide opportunities and resources for families that are reflective of their interests and needs. Lastly, we strive to include families in all areas of their students learning with volunteering and crafting fun and engaging family activities.

RESPONSIBLE

Being responsible for providing high-quality instruction and materials for learning. Being
available through a variety of communication tools including: phone, email, agendas, Class DOJO and in person to help families and students by answering questions and addressing concerns.

FAIRMINDED

Being fair minded by providing physical and emotionally safe environments for learning.
Also making sure that we are providing clear instructions and consistent expectations for all areas of the school environment including academics and SEL. This includes modeling a growth mindset, living the RRF life, and practicing our STEM learner profiles.

RESPECT

Engaging with the school to support students academics, physical health, and mental health. Communicating to the school when your student is going to be absent. Also creating an environment that encourages positive attitudes and behaviors about school.

RESPONSIBLE

Checking communication tools such as agendas, backpacks, notes, take home folders, and Parent Portal. Participating in school activities, volunteering when possible, and engaging with PTA events. Making sure your child is healthy, well-rested and ready to learn each day. Keeping your student home from school when they are ill.

FAIRMINDED

Talking with your student about how they are doing and how their day went. Maintaining a healthy balance between homework, reading, physical activity, and screen time. Make attendance a priority!!!

RESPECT

Respect and embrace your individuality and know your strengths as a learner. Treat classmates and staff with kindness and empathy. Be a good example for the school community.

RESPONSIBLE

Responsibility by being prepared for learning and the day, staying on task
with school work, focusing, participating in their education and the school environment, and asking for help and providing help to others when needed.
